Installing the VMS( )-U10/FMS( )-U10 Cards
The VMS( )-U10/FMS( )-U10 card is a digital-signal and voice-processing platform that you install in
an interface slot in the telephone system. The VMS/FMS card provides all voice messaging system
application functions. It also provides voice recording storage on its hard disk or compact flash disk,
and a serial port connection.
1 Slide the MB (make busy) switch down to the "Off"
position.

2 Plug the VMS/FMS card into any available S slot in the
telephone system. Be sure that the card is firmly seated in the
slot. Do not use an ISA slot.
3 Slide the MB switch up to the "On" position.

Setting up the voice messaging system
Use a remote computer and CoSession software to program the voice messaging system. Detailed
instructions for programming the voice messaging system are in the Programming chapter of the
EliteMail VMS/EliteMail Limited Technician Guide.
1 Plug the remote computer's serial cable
into the serial port. When the BCLR LED is
green, continue with the next step.

2 Using the remote computer, connect the
voice messaging system using CoSession
software. Press ALT + LEFT SHIFT to access
the Remote Maintenance menu. Press F1 to
access the voice messaging system.
A green BCLR LED indicates the voice
