Electra Elite® IPK customers can now add optional features to their system with
the release of Feature Pack R4000 and R4500 from NEC Unified Solutions
(NEC).
These optional feature packs are available both separately and sold as upgrades to the
standard feature set (CPUI 3.0) that is shipped with a new Electra Elite IPK
system.
By giving customers the opportunity to add additional value to their phone systems,
these optional Feature Packs capitalize on NEC's ongoing strategy of investment
protection and customer choice.
The theme of this software release is improved end-user satisfaction. As a result of
adding and enhancing our feature set, we have simplified and expanded call
processing.
Improved User Experience
Interactive Softkeys change based on the state of the telephone. Twenty three
softkeys assist users in maximizing the power of their Electra Elite IPK system features.
Users are not forced to memorize access codes or dedicate line keys for feature
assignments.

Call Park System
The number of call park buffer zones has been expanded from 10 to 40. This expanded
capability allows for more personalization and greater flexibility. Additionally, call park
buffer zones now may be assigned to appear on a line key and on the attendant's add-
on console. A visual line key indication on the telephone assists users in timely and
simple retrieval of parked calls.
Hot Dial Pad
A hot dial pad allows for establishing calls more quickly and is consistent with the
operation of NEC PBX products. Eliminating the requirement for going off hook or
pressing the speaker key prior to dialing can speed the rate at which calls are originated
improving user efficiency.
Speed Dial Expansion
The Electra Elite IPK has two options for assigning speed dial. One option is to support
80 system speed dial numbers and 20 station numbers and the second option is to
support 1000 system speed dial numbers. Prior to Release 4000, when the 1000
system option was selected, stations were unable to support any station speed dial.
Release 4000 now allows each station to have 10 station speed dial buffers even when
the 1000 option is selected. This new option greatly expands the number of locations
that can now take advantage of 1000 system speed dial numbers without sacrificing
station speed dial.
Last Number Redial
The last number redial feature has been expanded to support the last 10 numbers
dialed. Users have the ability to view these most recently dialed numbers and
immediately dial the selected number, saving time and offering additional convenience.
This operation is consistent with our PBX products.

Station Name Assignment
The number of characters for telephone name assignment has been expanded from 8
to 16. By expanding this field there is greater flexibility in assignments and telephones
are more identifiable. Name assignment is a supported feature over a K-CCIS network.
As networks grow, the need to better distinguish between users across the network is
better accomplished with 16 characters.
Add-On-Module (ADM)
A new hardware option has been added that expands the capacity and functionality of
the multi-line telephone.
16 Line Display Set with ADM Connection to telephone Connection on back of
ADM for Programming
The 16LD-ADM extends the capabilities of the Electra Elite IPK's TDM terminals with
additional buttons and an LCD display. This expansion module adds 16 buttons to an
existing 8 or 16-button terminal, increasing the total number of buttons with one module.
The 16 buttons on the expansion module can be programmed as a directory number,
Line key/Direct Station Selection or speed dial key very similar to the IPK terminal.
The ADM connects to an eight or 16 button telephone and provides an additional 16
keys for lines, stations or feature access. The dir/exit key is used to access an
additional 100 station speed dial buffers. These numbers are stored within this unit and
do not impact the system's allocation of station speed dial. The ADM does not require a
station port or power. In the idle condition, the ADM displays the 16 line keys. The
speed dial is accessed by pressing the ADM's DIR key which displays a launching page
based on the alphabet. A USB port on the back of the ADM connects to a PC for easy
programming of the unit. The AMD attaches to the telephone plugging into a module
slot.
The ADM is supported with IPK Release R4000/4500 software and -2 TDM IPK
telephones.
New IP Telephones
The -3 version of the Electra Elite IP telephones, support an optional adapter that
provides local survivability when the IP network is inoperative. This includes
intermediate problems and line power issues. With the PS(A)-R adapter is installed in
the NEC IP terminal, users can make /receive phone calls through a local PSTN
connection which is terminated to the PS(A)-R adapter. Additionally the -3 IP
telephones now support the IEEE 802.3af PoE(Power over Ethernet) as a standard

feature. This built in functionality eliminates the need to purchase the IPLA-R Unit,
saving money and reducing the installation time.
Calling Party Name Display K-CCIS
Calling Party Number (CPN) Presentation from Station K-CCIS allows each station of
the remote systems a unique 10-digit number (representing the DID number of the
originating station) to be sent out over the PRI circuit of the main system. Prior to this
software release, telephones seizing a trunk from a distant switch would pass the caller
ID information of the remote switch's trunk. When this trunk information was displayed,
it was not representative of the caller's actual location, potentially causing confusion.
With Release 4000/4500, greater flexibility provides improved transparency and
improved user experience. Support for this feature using IP K-CCIS requires R4500.
K-CCIS supported over T1 using the CCH card is supported with R4000 and 4500.
Release 4000/4500 is available for immediate delivery. Refer to the chart below for
